Getting two cows to cooperate with a camera is pure luck. Within a few seconds of this image they were wandering off quickly. Having this encounter on a day with a beautiful sky made it even more special. I've driven past this spot a few hundred times since and never seen a shot possibility close to this. I had a staring contest with this guy on top of the Empire State Building. This prints well in a smaller size and I've done them on the metal for a humorous addition to a wall. New York, NY. April, 2008.

Freedom Gul

Photographed on the Staten Island Ferry. He's not one-legged, just has the other tucked away.

This is one of my favorite images. It was taken on the Burlington waterfront on an early spring day that didn't seem like it would in result in much. You have to look closely to figure out what is going on but it is simply a duck, standing on a piece of wood that was floating just off shore. The sun was still high in the sky and very bright and I wanted the sparkle to look like stars so I closed the aperture all the way down. What I really like about this is that it is something you would never see with the naked eye - it can only be seen through the lens of a camera. Burlington, Vermont. March, 2008.
